OSLO, December 10, 2024 – Kezzler, a leading provider of traceability solutions, today announced its collaboration with Viking Outdoor Footwear and Trimco Group to implement Digital Product Passports (DPPs) for selected styles from Viking’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection. This marks the second joint project for Kezzler and Trimco Group since formalizing their strategic partnership in early October, further solidifying their commitment to driving innovation in the textile and footwear industry.
Viking is proactively embracing the DPP requirement, viewing it as an opportunity to enhance data quality, explore new customer engagement avenues, and drive sustainability across its value chain. Kezzler’s DPP solution, utilizing GS1 Digital Link format and unique QR codes on product labels, enables Viking to achieve these goals, with Trimco Group providing comprehensive labeling and supply chain expertise.
“The use of DPPs in our footwear and apparel lines is changing the way we see data management and the possibilities to communicate with our customers,” said Elin Carlsen, Head of Sustainability at Viking Outdoor Footwear AS. “DPP places new expectations on data handling in our value chain, but it also opens up exciting opportunities for our repair & care strategy. Kezzler and Trimco Group bring end-to-end solutions that align perfectly with our DPP objectives.”
Kezzler’s DPP technology empowers Viking to:
- Meet future transparency standards: Ensure compliance with evolving regulations and consumer demands for product information.
- Establish direct communication channels: Foster deeper connections with customers by providing access to detailed product information and engaging experiences.
- Strengthen brand integrity: Enhance consumer trust by providing verifiable product authenticity and origin information.
- Drive sustainability: Support repair and care strategies, promote responsible consumption, and contribute to a circular economy.
“Viking’s proactive approach to DPP and its commitment to sustainability is remarkable,” said Hans Petter Hübert, Director of Strategic Initiatives at Kezzler. “We are proud to partner with Trimco Group once again to support Viking in creating a digital ID strategy that leverages DPP as a powerful tool for value chain transparency and customer engagement.”
This project represents a pivotal step in aligning product lifecycle management with compliance and sustainable practices. By implementing Kezzler and Trimco Group’s combined DPP solution, Viking is leading the way in the Norwegian outdoor footwear industry, demonstrating the transformative potential of product digitization.
