Kezzler helps launch new Traceability standard in China

Kezzler has been a key contributor in the drafting of a new standard for traceability in China which they presented at the 4th Anti-Counterfeiting, Traceability Supply and Demand Forum held in Hangzhou, China on April 8.

The new industry standard is T/CAB 0085-2021 “General Technical Requirements for Packaging Traceability”.

Introduction of new Packaging Traceability Standard

The standard of T / CAB 0085-2021 “General Technical Requirements for Packaging Traceability System” was proposed by The China Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Association. Kezzler took a lead in helping to formulate and draft the standard which was officially released in February and implemented on March 1 of this year. Further information can be found here.

There has been an increasing focus on the importance of traceability from both the government and consumers in China. This is the first standard to cover product packaging, the application for the standard was reviewed and approved by industry experts under the organization of The Packaging and Printing Professional Committee of China Standardization Innovation Strategic Alliance.

The purpose of this standard is to standardize the general technical requirements of a packaging traceability system. The standard specifies the general requirements, technical requirements, system integration, and system safety requirements for the establishment and implementation of a packaging traceability system. The release and implementation of the standard will play a positive role in standardizing the production and operational behavior of packaged consumer goods enterprises, providing a technical basis for the traceability application of terminal brands, and ensuring the safety and reliability of anti-counterfeiting Traceability Technology.

“Governments across the world are placing stricter and stricter traceability requirements upon brand owners. Although there are set or upcoming requirements from Governments, there have so far not been any standards to help brand owners to design or select their own traceability system to comply with these requirements. This is about to change with this new standard. To my knowledge, it is the first time such a standard has been written, even in a global perspective.”

Chen Xuanye, Key Account Manager of Kezzler China Technology Co., Ltd. introduced Kezzler’s platform for product digitization and traceability to the assembled crowd. She also delivered a keynote report around the topic of the new standard and went through several case studies from leading global brands that have implemented Kezzler traceability solutions.
